Join us June 8th at 7 pm on zoom for this month's Queer Spirit, on the theme of QUEERING FEAR! We'll gather for an hour of collective Lectio Divina, considering Queered ancient and modern Sacred Text and Song across traditions and creative practices.
Our June theme asks us to consider:
- What does it mean to read our fear not as a sign to retreat, but as intelligence — data our bodies and communities are generating about where the real stakes are?
- How are we being encouraged to fear right now — and how does fear-mongering work, particularly when it's wielded by religious and ethical frameworks, by threats of punishment and damnation, by state violence and accusations of terrorism? Where and how is fear being systemically weaponized against us?
- When and how does fear overlap with trust — with the wariness that's actually appropriate when we're building relationship with those we want to be in community and revolutionary action with?
- What does it mean, given all of that, to queer fear: to refuse its isolating function, to use it as intelligence, to transform it into something we move inside of, together?
