Resurrecting Radical Hope: Holy Week 2026 at Judson

Notes Towards: The Reign Shower by Chanel Stone
Join us as we welcome new life with Chanel & Khufu through performance, live music, open bar, small bits, baby shower celebration and more.
Maundy Thursday Service
Gather at table for Judson's intimate and contemplative observance of the last meal Jesus is said to have had with his friends before Empire killed him and tried to stop their radical hope revolution. Optional footwashing will call us into the sense of service we're meant to co-create together and readings both ancient and modern, along with a message from Community Minister Rev. Anike, will remind us of the mandate that Jesus gave his friends and continues to give us, to love one another, no matter what.

Whether Christian or Jew or Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or Zen, Dzieci Theatre's "A Passion" appeals to the human spirit in everyone and our essential desire for communion.
Easter Sunday Service
How do we celebrate Easter when we continue to live in such a Good Friday world? As Empires continue to crucify, what does it mean to embody radical hope? One answer is that we'll gather for our annual shared meal immediately following service, so come hungry and bring a dish if you're able. At 11am, we'll practice community resurrection through song, story, a sermon by Micah, and a cantata composed by our very own Henco Espag. All are welcome, no matter how you come to this day, believer, non-believer, curious questioner, or staunch skeptic. There's room for all as we center ourselves in the co-creative justice-seeking toward which our collective spirit continually calls us!

Palm Sunday Service
As Toni Cade Bambara says, “The role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.” On this Palm Sunday, as we dip our palms into Judson's traditional pot of biodegradable glitter and symbolize the ways we are called to get our hands messy with the work of justice, we'll remember Jesus as the radically political spiritual performance artist he was. In a world full of so much chaotic destruction, how can we recommit to embodying the joyful creativity we all desperately need?
