A free, high visibility low-tech forum for experimentation, emerging ideas, and works-in-progress held in the Fall and Spring seasons. Artists are selected by a rotating committee of peer artists, and join Movement Research Artists-In-Residence and international guests each season in performing at the historic Judson Memorial Church.

Lab/Shul Sabbath Queen
Sabbath Queen is a Shabbat dinner event that begins at 6:00 PM with a cocktail hour, featuring small bites and wine. At 7:00 PM, a traditional ritual service takes place, accompanied by a live band. The service is recorded and streamed via Zoom for remote participants. At 8:00 PM, following the conclusion of the ritual, the space transitions into a seated dinner setting.
NYC Friends of Clearwater Monthly Gathering
NYC Friends of Clearwater is having our monthly gathering which is held on the third Friday of each month, starting at 6:30pm in the Assembly Hall. Join us for a night of live music, potluck dinner, and environmental discussion.

Great Small Works Spaghetti Dinner: Call in the Giants
Six giant puppets from six different artists will participate in a Convergence of Giants to celebrate the ways that oversized puppets have performed festivals of resistance from the Middle Ages to the 1980 Women's Pentagon Action and the 2011 Occupy Wall Street movement.

Fools Mass by Dzieci Theatre
Dzieci Theatre's Fools Mass, an annual offering since 1998, cannot be silenced this season. The piece celebrates both the sacred and profane, the miracle of life and the enigma of death, all with enchanted choral singing, riotous comic buffoonery, and extraordinary dramatic invention. Fools Mass, like no other event during these ravaged times, truly captures the heart of the holidays and the sanctity of the human spirit.

This Sunday, as we celebrate the spiritual journeys of the newest members of Judson's congregation, we'll also light the fourth Advent candle for Prophetic Love, a love that speaks up and speaks out and never lets Empire have the final word. Micah will invite us all to uncover the continuing revelations of our own lives (especially in a time when white Christian Nationalism is hogging the mic and desperately trying to dominate the narrative) and lean into the ever-expanding roots of co-creative, justice-minded love that carry the real story of our ever-evolving tradition.

Judson Arts Wednesdays: “Solitude of a Pickled Feather” by Cameron Childs @ Black Aesthetics
This work gathers a series of embodied remnants—memory shards, repeated gestures, whispers of loss—to construct a living mosaic of remembrance. Solitude of a Pickled Feather moves through the tension between preservation and distortion, asking what it means to hold onto someone who is continually slipping away. The piece treats grief as a continued arrival and departure — an unspoken rhythm that never fully lands, yet remains persistently felt, shaping the body from within whenever and however it occurs. It explores seclusion, repetition, tenderness, and the slow erosion of memory, all while considering how the body becomes both archive and artifact—fragile, heavy, solitary, and collective at once.

Fire Ensemble: The Nature of Things
The Fire Ensemble presents The Nature of Things, a musical exploration of air, fire, water, and earth. Led by Creative Director Troy Anthony, this performance celebrates the power of collective song to transform and heal. The concert features the co-created new work Testimonies of Fire, commissioned by Pink Fang, which uplifts the voices and stories of the choir, alongside previews of other new works in development.
