A Panel Talk about Ballroom History, Archiving, and Preservation
The Legacy Continues is a community-rooted research and archiving initiative dedicated to preserving the histories and legacies of Ballroom culture. Since emerging in Harlem in the mid 20th century, Ballroom has grown into a global cultural movement. The project focuses particularly on preserving histories that remain underdocumented or at risk of disappearing, especially stories connected to the pioneering and trailblazing generations of Ballroom culture. The program combines panel discussions, archival research, photography, and intergenerational exchange, bringing together Ballroom elders and international community members to reflect on Ballroom’s historical foundations and contemporary global evolution.
