Judson Arts Wednesdays Presents:

(AiR) Artist in Residence Karen Peterson Dance “WARMAMAS: Performance”

“Warmamas: Performance” is a multi media dance piece for five dancers, which brings dancers with and without disabilities to the same stage with Maria Lino’s video projections and narration captured by oral historian, Patricia Figueroa. Through live dance, projected video and spoken word we come to understand the complex issues behind the stories of mothers whose children have fought in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Ms. Peterson is overwhelmed to receive an invitation to this prestigious program where featured dance artists are produced for their inclusive, diverse and social content. “Warmamas” fits perfectly into the mission of the history rich Judson, a space that has opened its arms to experimental dance and theatre since the early 1950’s.

Doors open at 55 Washington Square South at 7:15pm
