Autosomatica

Autosomatica is a non-hierarchical platform for self-inquiry through body education in the Feldenkrais Method. Founders, Amber Hopkins and Wanda Gala are nationally certified Feldenkrais practitioners. Our practice prioritizes leadership among feminine-of-center educators and services for non-white, trans, gender non-conforming, disabled, queer, immigrant and fiscally challenged individuals within the field of somatics. This focus defines the culture of our work and shapes the offerings we develop.

Our weekly Community Somatic Practice: Awareness Through Movement Class offers distilled tools for listening to yourself on a deeper level and enhancing your quality of movement. Students may use this class to relieve pain and discomfort resulting from injury or congenital health conditions; expand physical range and precision of motion for performance; or use it as a mindfulness practice that helps to balance anxiety and stress. Classes are informed by backgrounds in mindfulness, movement studies, choreography, creative consulting, and dance education. Open to all levels of experience.
