"New New Yorker" Photo Competition

Judson Memorial Church invites all photographers, amateur and professional, to participate in a competition that captures the modern immigrant experience in the New York City area. Subject matter should feature scenes relating to the everyday lives of individuals who have recently relocated to New York from another country. The competition is designed to create a greater awareness and appreciation of the experiences, challenges, and opportunities facing New York's new residents.

CONTEST RULES:

• Submit any digital or scanned original photograph(s) by e-mail to judsonphotos@yahoo.com. Minimum resolution 300 dpi, minimum size 4x6 inches. The subject line should read "New New Yorker." You may enter as often as you like. Also, mail-in entries are accepted (do not send original materials - entries will not be returned).
• Grand prize photo, and 3 runner-up photos, will be chosen by a panel of Judson Memorial Church members. Photo content must feature individuals and/or scenes from the New York City metropolitan area. All decisions are final.
• $250 goes to grand prize winner, three runner-up winners win $25 each.
• For each submission, please include a title and location where photo was taken.
• Please include your name, address, email address (if you have one), and daytime phone number, along with equipment used and all other pertinent technical data.
• By entering, contestants certify that photo(s) are original and do not infringe on any third-party rights.
• Contestants will retain all rights to their photographs. Photos will not be used for commercial merchandising or advertising, nor will they be sold to a third party for commercial purposes. However, contestants grant Judson Memorial Church and it's representatives usage of the images and the winner's name, photo, and likeness on the Judson website (http://www.judson.org), on Judson's Facebook page, exhibit space designated by the church, church programs, and a potential printed compilation.
• Contest is open to professional and amateur photographers using any photo equipment. Employees and members of Judson Memorial Church are not eligible.
• Images can be submitted in either TIFF or JPEG format, prints any size (color or black/white), or duplicate transparencies (no originals).
• Entries must be received by March 15, 2009.
• Void where prohibited by law. Tax on the prize is the winner's sole responsibility.
