The Judson Weekend
September 23-25, 2011
Inspiration in a beautiful place with wonderful people
Every year, the Judson community takes a weekend in the country at the Incarnation Center in Ivoryton, CT. The setting is breathtaking – nestled alongside a tranquil mile-long lake that offers boating and swimming , there are ten miles of trails for hiking, one that goes all the way around the lake; there’s softball and volleyball, tennis courts, and both inside and outside basketball courts. The Incarnation Farm is a blast – you can visit the resident llamas, donkeys, peacocks, ducks, and goats.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration is closed for 2011. If you can't attend this year, please return to this page for pictures and videos.

Our "Un"schedule
Not a jock or animal enthusiast? No problem – read by the stone fireplace; work a jigsaw puzzle; play music together; or enjoy workshops/crafts offered by Judson volunteers. You can even dig into a specific topic around a meal table: name the topic.
Of the few activities we have planned, you are welcome to join - or not - the following:
Friday: After we settle in on Friday, we spend time getting to know each other via “the Question” and special discussion groups.
Saturday: During the afternoon, there’s a softball game and a family-friendly BYOB cocktail hour (hey, it’s an Episcopal camp!). At night, we bring on the dancing with our own in-house DJ capped off with a Saturday night party of singing and shenanigans.
Sunday morning: We may have yoga or discussions, and we’ll definitely have worship by the lake.
This Is How We Roll...
We’ve chartered a comfortable bus that will leave Judson at 6:30 p.m. promptly on Friday night. When you arrive at the Incarnation Center, there will be food (sandwiches and snacks) available so you don’t go to bed hungry.
For the return, the bus will leave the Incarnation Center at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, so if the travel gods are with us, you’ll be home by late afternoon/early evening.
If you prefer to drive, please let us know if you are willing to take additional passengers. The camp is located at 253 Bushy Hill Road, Deep River, CT, view the map here.
This Is What We Eat…
Great meals provided by the Center – 8:00 Breakfast; 12:30 Lunch; 6:00 Dinner. If you are vegetarian or have other food considerations, you can indicate those on the registration form available below.
This Is What We Love…
The Judson Weekend is traditionally a time to be together in a relaxed setting to get to know each other better and to play and to laugh and to be inspired. We value our time together and want you to enjoy this getaway in ways that really nurture and energize you, so do as little or as much as you want.
If you have thoughts about what would make it that much better for you, let us know.
Also, we love that kids can run around, chase butterflies, play shuffleboard, blow giant bubbles, go on treasure hunts, enjoy time with their parents and without. (Childcare will be provided at certain times throughout the weekend).
We want to make the weekend very family friendly, and have reserved separate housing for families so that there will be more room for you and you can observe your own family sleep hours more easily.
This Is What We Pay
Please note that though we have added additional places to stay, it’s a popular place to be and reservations are filled on a first come, first served basis.
Registration is closed.
If you can't make it this year, please visit this page for pictures and videos.
